Rose managed to sneak out into the hallway when the other strigoi found her. She managed to overcome one but more came. She was about to be overwhelmed when Dimitri showed up and seemingly rescued her. In the end with Dimitri and Rose working together, they manage to kill the rest of the strigoi. Rose however tried to escape but Dimitri tried convincing her to stay with him. She rejects and stabs him, killing him.

Dimitri gives Rose a deadline for making up her choice. While staying with him she asked questions on what it was like to be a strigoi. Dimitri answered it was "amazing". On the day of the deadline Rose makes her choice, the third choice, none, neither being turned or dying. She stabs him in the heart with a wooden stake hoping it would knock him out knowing it won't be enough to kill him.

Rose was staying with Dimitri's family and when she went out at night time she found him. When she found him she didn't know how to react because seeing him confirms his new status as a strigoi. Rose then blackouts from a punch, when she wakes up she finds herself in a five star hotel suite. While staying there Dimitri forces her to become a strigoi and be with him or die.

Rose is staying with Dimitri's family hoping that he would come back so she could kill him. She wants that because moroi's and dhampir's is a fate worse then death. While she stays with the family she does some mino errands for the family since it's the least they can do for accepting her into the family.
