However Paris is under the control of Nicolo Machiavelli, an ally of John Dee. While Nicholas and his allies flee to a hidden base, Nicholas goes off on his own.

Evie finds the water transparent man interesting, He acts like a normal human would even though he's jailed. Evie also learns that other supernatural beings are being killed, but the thing about that is there are no signs of injury. I'm very interested in what this creature that's been killing other creature since there are no signs of injury on the victims.

While waiting for her backup Evie silently observes the thing that was disguised as her superior. She finds that the thing is transparent, like water, able to see though him. I find this shocking because the creatures from this book are all from various myths and I never heard of a transparent man.

Evie when looking at her superior, Raquel,she see something fade in and out of her and she then realizes that thing isn't her superior but something disguised as her. The thing, thinking it got everybody fooled by disguising as their superior thought wrong as Evie quickly dispatched the thing with ease and called help from her co-workers.

The book starts off with a sixteen year old girl named Evie. She's at the graveyard tring to capture vampire. She has an ability that lets her see through the supernatural being disguises, illusion or as the narrarator calls it, glamour. Evie reported to her superiors after she captured the vampire, but sees something inside her surperior.

Rose managed to sneak out into the hallway when the other strigoi found her. She managed to overcome one but more came. She was about to be overwhelmed when Dimitri showed up and seemingly rescued her. In the end with Dimitri and Rose working together, they manage to kill the rest of the strigoi. Rose however tried to escape but Dimitri tried convincing her to stay with him. She rejects and stabs him, killing him.

Dimitri gives Rose a deadline for making up her choice. While staying with him she asked questions on what it was like to be a strigoi. Dimitri answered it was "amazing". On the day of the deadline Rose makes her choice, the third choice, none, neither being turned or dying. She stabs him in the heart with a wooden stake hoping it would knock him out knowing it won't be enough to kill him.

Rose was staying with Dimitri's family and when she went out at night time she found him. When she found him she didn't know how to react because seeing him confirms his new status as a strigoi. Rose then blackouts from a punch, when she wakes up she finds herself in a five star hotel suite. While staying there Dimitri forces her to become a strigoi and be with him or die.

Rose is staying with Dimitri's family hoping that he would come back so she could kill him. She wants that because moroi's and dhampir's is a fate worse then death. While she stays with the family she does some mino errands for the family since it's the least they can do for accepting her into the family.

Rose goes into a state of depression due to the loss of Dimitri, her love interest. Her heart breaks at finding out that he became a strigoi the undead immortal vampires. She quits her school looking for Dimitri's family intending to tell them about Dimitri's fate.

The academy of vampires, moroi and dhampirs, half-vampires are attacked by strigoi, the dead immortal vampires. Amongst the battle many half-vampires were killed. Rose thought that they couldn't lose due to their plan and teamwork but in the end they were outnumbered and Rose romantic interest, Dimitri was outnumbered and presumed dead.

It's been a month since Rose's friend Mason died. Rose been feeling a bit depressed after Mason's death, blaming herself. She finds herself bored but that stops after the school principal announces that the whole school was going to have a practice strigoi attack. I think Rose eventually be excited and a bit more depressed because her friend was killed by one and she has experience in killing one.

Rose kills the strigois in pure anger after witnessing one of her kidnapped friend Mason getting killed. The guardians arrived after Rose killed the strigois but now she feels empty and emotionless due to the loss of her friend and love interest. She gets comforted by her first love interest Dimitri.

Rose found out that another royal vampire family have been massacred. She gets information that there have been sightings of strigoi, the undead cannibalistic vampires. She told her friends and they wanting to be heroes goes to the sighting and gets kidnapped. Rose try to rescue her friends until she too gets kidnapped and meets an ancient strigoi named Isiah who thinks all this is just a game.

Rose Hathaway and Dimitri Belikov are dhampirs, half vampires and half humans. Most dhampirs are guardians of the royal vampires. Rose and Dimitri goes to meet a famous dhampir, when they get to the location, the find the dhampirs dead and others around them as well.

John then goes back to his home to visit his sister. He finds out his commander is staying at his house and his sister is smitten over him. He later finds out his commander is a vampire and kidnaps his sister for a ritual.

John admires Harker's courage, but all that starts to fall apart once he saw his commanding officer doing something to his enemies men that made him think that they are working for a madman. I predict that John will be more aware of Harker's actions and watch him closely.

She founds out one of them have been killed by Roiben the faerie that she saved. She later find out that a court filled with faeries want her dead for some reason unknown to her. Roiben betrays the leader of the court and saves her.
