While waiting for her backup Evie silently observes the thing that was disguised as her superior. She finds that the thing is transparent, like water, able to see though him. I find this shocking because the creatures from this book are all from various myths and I never heard of a transparent man.

Evie finds the water transparent man interesting, He acts like a normal human would even though he's jailed. Evie also learns that other supernatural beings are being killed, but the thing about that is there are no signs of injury. I'm very interested in what this creature that's been killing other creature since there are no signs of injury on the victims.

Evie when looking at her superior, Raquel,she see something fade in and out of her and she then realizes that thing isn't her superior but something disguised as her. The thing, thinking it got everybody fooled by disguising as their superior thought wrong as Evie quickly dispatched the thing with ease and called help from her co-workers.

The book starts off with a sixteen year old girl named Evie. She's at the graveyard tring to capture vampire. She has an ability that lets her see through the supernatural being disguises, illusion or as the narrarator calls it, glamour. Evie reported to her superiors after she captured the vampire, but sees something inside her surperior.
