Rereading one of my all-time favorites. This book stirred up my emotions and pulled me in like no other book has ever done. Probably because the premise of the book is based on my biggest fear “being abducted and held against my will with no way to escape”. Since i personally tend to trust everyone the main character Gemma reminded me very much of myself. Let’s see if it’s as good the second time around.

The book is layed out a little weird. There are no chapters, only a squiggly design separating new thoughts. One big run on. Maybe the author did this because the book is a letter to the narrator's captor and to symbolize lost connection to time and reality by narrator.

Had a little trouble getting settled into this book. Had dreams the first night of being held captive and struggling to get free. I waited a few days and am trying again.
