The point of view of this book is 3rd person limited. This is because it only shows Jake’s feelings and doesn’t show anybody else’s.

The tension in my book starts when the Russian’s Secret Police start arresting all Finns that speak out against Russia. As a Finn, Jake fears that his family might be next. One night, Jake hears footsteps walking up the stairs to his family’s apartment and a knock on his door. The character and the reader both know that a problem is going to occur. The author uses anticipation of conflict to create tension.

In my opinion the Sympathetic Character is Jake Maki. Jake moves from his house in Minnesota, all the way to Russia. I just feel sorry for him, because he has to leave all his friends and live in a foreign country. The unsympathetic character is Jake’s Father. Jake’s Father is really strict and forced his family to move to Russia.
