When I was in first grade, I had to write a story about animals for class. I chose to write about a pair of Abbot and Costello type chicks (baby chickens, not women...) who encounter the ghost of the chicken Napoleon in a haunted house. My teacher crumpled it up and threw it at me when I handed it in, exclaiming "Nonsense!" If only she could read the first story in this book, about a crab-infested Bill Clinton...
