This is my favorite kind of book, except for its lack of gay stuff. (heh) Well-written, tons of atmosphere, likeable characters who are not too ahead of their time (1141), fascinating interaction between Catherine and her previously unknown Jewish relatives. And the cover's great!

Oh man, this is exactly the kind of book I love reading most. I have been doing a lot of required reading and looking with desire upon this one while I do what I must. I'd have finished it by now if I hadn't had all this other stuff to do.
