Natalie > Status Update

So the original "mood" I had in mind for my NaNo project was "dark and angsty and dramatic" but something was brewing under the surface between two characters. I found out that something Awful had happened in their past that they both felt guilt over and suddenly the mood was "dark and depressing and heavy" and I'm not sure if I want to change this or just go with it.
I didn't sign up to write a book like this.
