This is basically the hunger games. I’m not saying I’m upset…but it IS the Hunger Games.
Heroine forced to play a part when she’s secretly part of the revolution…love interest #1 who’s a hot, temperamental soldier…love interest #2 who’s a lovable (but smart) puppy dog who would do anything to save the heroine…
And now we have a rebel fortress hidden in a bobbed out “radiation” city? Mmkay.

I mean, I'm just saying, DO the characters know best?? Or should the author say "NOPE THIS AIN'T HAPPENING" because I really didn't want to deal with such a heavy topic as this "plot twist" requires.

So the original "mood" I had in mind for my NaNo project was "dark and angsty and dramatic" but something was brewing under the surface between two characters. I found out that something Awful had happened in their past that they both felt guilt over and suddenly the mood was "dark and depressing and heavy" and I'm not sure if I want to change this or just go with it.
I didn't sign up to write a book like this.

Just started “Bitter Winter” and chapter 1
already has me smiling like an idiot. (I know it won’t last but I’m happy for now)

This is so good so far!!

That moment when you accidentally type in 24,000 words instead of 2,400 into the Nano status and you get a congratulatory email for making 10k and I’m like....thanks but you’ve got the wrong person. XD

Any recommendations for an almost 18 year old guy who likes dystopian/speculative or science fiction and WW2 (or other wars)? My brother got a good reads account and I’m trying to help him find more fiction to read. XD

My to-read shelf of previously 592 books is now 261.

As I'm struggling with all the many ways I can re-write the first chapter of my book (#editingugh) what do I decide to do instead?

Purge my to-read shelf on goodreads of course.

(What I want to know is HOW AND WHY so many of these books ended up on my to do read list??? They don't even look interesting and I do NOT remember adding them.)

Autumn is in the air and NaNoWriMo is still two months away BUT I'M GETTING SO EXCITED FOR IT (except my writing is a disorganized mess so idk what I'm going to do).

I also have not been on goodreads in forever. *waves awkwardly*

So, I haven't actually watched the show since season 3 because I can't find the newer seasons at the library....but I was super happy to hear that Jack and Elizabeth finally got married....and now hear THAT JACK WAS SUPPOSEDLY KILLED? WHAT IS HAPPENING?? You can't do that to one of my favorite heroes!!!!!!!

(And if I lose Captain America, too....*angry sob*)

That moment when you're trying to work a good description into your writing but in the context of what you're writing, it just sounds pretentious. -_-

I still haven't decided yet what I think of this. On one hand, it's wonderfully fantastical and fun; on the other....it's very fantastical. :P

LMM is possibly my very favorite author. Her writing just feels like home. ♥

I'm battling an awful cold. Yesterday I was too sick to even read (UGH), but today I've been doing pretty much nothing but reading and its something to be grateful for. <3 If I have to be sick, please let me be able to read.

I have a feeling this is going to wreck me....but so far I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
