I guess they don't know that the earth is round? Daenerys doesn't want to travel east because she thinks it will take farther away from Westeros. And I think this red comet is still visible. I'm interested to know just what exactly do these characters know of the laws of physics. Then again, in a fictional world where magic is real, the laws of physics don't apply.

Martin wanted to make sure the reader knew which "side Renly played on"; by naming Renly's king's guard, the Rainbow Guard. Just in case anybody was questioning Renly's sexuality...he's gay. Nobody in the story will say it out loud, but the hints are so obvious it's kind of insulting that Martin expects the reader to believe that no character is gossiping about this.

Had to take a week long break from reading-my schedule wouldn't allow for it this week. I have to say, maybe it's the American in me, but I keep wondering, why does nobody care about the fate of the common people? I'm just waiting for the people to revolt against these wars being waged that are destroying their villages.I get it, you all want to be king, but what kind of king kills his own people?
