How did I not notice before now how boring Pierce's writing is? Beka 'n' friends just travel from one place to another, investigate, go to another place, wait around for a while, go somewhere else, only to go somewhere else immediately after that. None of the details are remotely interesting and the new romance is bland as unbuttered toast--I thought for sure Rosto was going to get his day in the sun.
