I've always had a soft spot for Isabel Allende. The way she paints such a picture in your mind's eye never ceases to amaze me. She takes you into a person's or family's life and you go through their entire story with them for decades. Loving this one so far, can't put it down. Haiti, slaves, voodoo, romance, adventure... as always, so well done. Warning, historically accurate sex scenes might be upsetting to some...
