Losing the job and then your child gets kicked out of school just because they found out you're poly, found your (anonymous) blog coincidentally - well, that sucks. People are way to anxious about this whole poly thing. I can at least confirm that people react like you have murdered kittens just because you tell them you consider polyamory. And I'm not even living in a small town.
