This was so wonderful, OMG!!

“Wait! Wait a second!” Patrick groaned. “You can’t hurt Jay! I’m right here, just leave my kid alone.”

SOMEONE HELP HIM!!!

Patrick stared out the window at the Youth Services Center. “We just met six weeks ago. We fucked each other a couple times, but you don’t know me well enough to say shit like that. I’m not worth throwing away your career over.”

"You think I want to watch you throw away your reputation, your career, for a quick fuck with the muscle-bound caveman father of one of your juvenile delinquents?”

“I’m just going to disappoint you. This is one of three things I know how to actually cook. Otherwise I usually just boil pasta and crack open a jar of alfredo sauce.”
“Are you kidding?” Patrick chuckled. “That’s what I mean when I call dinner ‘homemade.’”

I love that this feels so real.

If there is an award for unusual destinations to have sex, this book certainly wins.

“Neat?” Ken squeaked. “I guess if you don’t mind feeling like you’re going to fall out.”
“Some guys do have a problem with that. But this”—Patrick hopped up and down on the glass—“isn’t going to break."

Those are famous last words for someone who's jumping up and down on a glass floor....

“I’ll be fine. He likes you too, you know.”
Patrick froze halfway through pulling the door shut. “Huh?”
It was better to pretend he didn’t know what the hell Jay was talking about.
“Ken looks at you the same way you look at him.”
He sighed. “Jay, you shouldn’t…. You don’t need to worry about how Ken looks at me, or how I look at him, all right?”

I am so in love with Patrick. He's this gentle giant dock worker who tries to do what's best for his son and never explodes no matter how often Jay ends up in jail for vandalism. Plus he's a boxer and so damn hot it should be illegal.
