Had to give up on this one even though the first 60 pages was amazing in content and style. Chapter one is about cave exploration; Chapter two about dark matter. Physics does not come easily for me, but I made some headway here. Cave exploration, and really, the underland itself, is just too dark for me.

Read the first 60 pages before coming up for air--that's how beautifully written this book is. But I doubt I can read on because the subject matter is too frightening. Cave exploring in absolute darkness where horizontal movement is through openings of shoulder width and ledges are slim and waterfalls deep. The prose is brilliant.
