What a cute dialogue as they try to think how to obtain some spermatozoa for microscopic research.

This may very well be the most harmless and cute book with the most decent characters I've read ... like forever?

"And the fact is, when I'm painting, I hate everybody. It saves time and helps me concentrate. "

It is sweet, it is cute, it has such positive characters. I can't stop reading.

"After this ritual, the lad actually appears to be glowing, lit from within like a lantern. Leeuwenhoek resists the temptation to shove him into a closet just to see if this is truly the case."

:) The novel is dearly enchanting.

I picked this up because it is one of this year's nominees for the P.K. Dick award. I'm already deeply immersed in the world of Leeuwenhoek and Vermeer and I'm more than curious to find out what classifies this book for an SF award.
