I don’t know what’s yet to come but honestly I could never feel bad for damn Winston after reading him reminiscing about his childhood. What a swine.

I. Hate. This. Book.

Sometimes I feel like I want to put it down because it’s not interesting enough, sometimes I can’t take my eyes off of it. And this changes in the span of two pages. Wtf is this book.

Until they become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious.

“Do you know that Newspeak is the only language in the world whose vocabulary gets smaller every year?”

It gets scarier and scarier page after page.

“This process of continuous alteration was applied not only to newspapers but to (...) every kind of literature or documentation which might conceivably hold any political or ideological significance”

This is by far the scarier part of the book to me and if it gets worse... it’s not gonna be fun.
