Just realized that MacMillan is embargoing library ebooks - limiting libraries to buying one copy of new ebooks. Lot of libraries are boycotting MacMillan ebooks, but not my library, the NYPL. I've decided to have my own small boycott and not buy any more MacMillan books or ebooks until their library embargo ends.

Eve Gotta help the libraries, and if MacMillan actually sees people reacting to a library ebook being unavailable by buying the book, they will keep this embargo going.

Eve I don’t understand why the big library systems like LA and New York have mostly not joined the boycott. Seems like they should be leading the fight.

Vivian You'd think the publishers would like the recurring revenue of ebooks. The library buys twenty copies and has them for 60 years.
