Corsets and bustles are not that restrictive!
Also Our good boy is still alive and I’m happy

So one false assumption people need to stop making is that corsets and Victorian skirts were restrict movement, they do to us who have never worn them, but many people who wear period clothing say; that once you get used to wearing them you can literally run and jump around in these things. So I think a girl who wears these clothes on the reg would be a able to move freely.

You can’t describe the German as looking like the fat conductor from Thomas the tank engine AND NOT have me imagine him sounding like ringing Star

POTENTIAL SPOILER WARNING! But I don’t anymone is gonna read this.
Either the German is most definitely the mole or the author is pulling a red herring, because he’s so sneaky and he turns out to be a mischievous hero. OR he’s the bad guy but like a henchman and Sarah’s father is the real villain

I forgot this book is written in dialect and I desperately need to find a audio version of this to hear someone’s poor attempts of a German accent.
