Okay, the ghost that wasn't is definitely one of the better stories. Is the author improving as he goes along? Or were the early stories that bad to start with (or maybe that sparse) that the way they appear in the book is actually an improvement?

Anyone who wants to find the poem/song online? Look up "lyrics ghostly sailors". It's under one of the 'ghost crew' links - sadly the only music for it is a fairly crappy midi.
I found nothing on youtube for it, unfortunately.
It's too bad - it's a nice song. It'd be cool to find a professional singer doing it - Great Big Sea, for example. They might be too rock-ish though...
