One of my favorite parts in this is still the scene where Poppy cuddles Colin and the irrepressible Prince responds with a saucy: "Excuse ME, I'm married! " 😂

My audiobook narrator has a surprisingly attractive voice for Horace Windslow and I'm actually quite pleased with it. The young Duke has unsuspected depths, as you will (hopefully) one day see.
Who else thinks Horace deserves his own fairy tale? ✋

A Royal Masquerade, like The Reluctant Godfather, is coming to Audible! So while I listen to all of the audio files, I'm annotating my book for my Goodreads buds. :)

My boy Burndee is trying SO hard in this book: he's growing so much. #ProudMom

Since the crying was so stressful to him, Burndee thought that he was fully justified in eating the lion’s share of the petit fours.

Burndee had to admit that if he had been a sentimental human being, he might have been quite moved.

With a flick of his wrist, Burndee twisted his sword and disarmed the man.

I love this book so much, and these characters. He's a cinnamon roll for sure, but a very quirky one. I love him.

I think when I read that line for the first time, I FELL IN LOVE. With Poppy, with Colin, and with the "ship" of the pair this line refers to.
But it was too late...I was already in love with them all, with each of these characters and PAIRS of characters.
I STILL remember how I felt when I read THIS LINE, these words, for the very first time. I already knew the characters, but they got so much deeper in this book, in this line, in the sequel novella, A ROYAL MASQUERADE.
I FELL IN LOVE a hundred times more when I read this line. I fell in love with Colin and with his relationships with his friends and family, especially the two people he is talking with or talking about in this line/this scene.
My heart just about burst, and my soul filled up and soared into the heavens. I was THAT filled up with warmth.
My heart melted and exploded, and Colin had my heart, and I've never gotten it back.
