Wolfendale effectively deflates the hype surrounding 'allusive ontology,' exposing it as a mixture of poetry and philosophy that contains the virtues of neither and the vices of both. While the book ostensibly treats Harman, the arguments can be fruitfully applied to the short-circuits indulged in by a host of other OOO-type theories.
