My book outlasted the report I was working!

Probably not gonna finish today, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Working late and listening to this as I go. Really hoping to finish today and move on to my next one.

I'm firmly convinced I skim-read the second half of this when I read it in 2013, as I had literally no memory of anything that has happened since I passed the 40% mark.

We've entered the realm of contrived plot twists and story that should have been trimmed.

Chugging along...

Might need to pull a second title to keep me going. I'm not hating this, I still like a lot of the story elements, but I didn't have expectations for this genre the first time I read this.

It was chapters back but the words "motel sagging like a battered woman" hang in my mind every time I pick it up. 🙄

Put this on hold while I read SUNRISE ON THE REAPING, but I'm back at it this morning.

All the pace of a thriller without the necessary development. The concept is fun, but the narrative feels rushed and cluttered.

This is a candy bar read and I'm here for it.
