Paraphrasing some lines that give me a headache:
“The future of a prosperous humanity is extraordinarily bright” ok Hegel
“If each generation had to learn everything anew even a creed iron shovel would be beyond our technical reach “ unsubstantiated speculation on early hominids
“Our cosmos have a billion years history, which is small on the size of the cosmos. Trillions of years lay ahead.”

Don’t consider me impressed so far.
The book is taking a grand history and species approach, one of which has become almost trite with the many first principal books which start at the dawn of agriculture
He then moves to talk about the greatest threats to humanity is itself. And I’m too early on in the book to say if this is the actual thesis. But if it is , what a weird idea during covid 19. Hubris!
