I'm 45% into this. There are a whole lot of whos, but very little whys. Why are they doing what they're doing? What are they feeling? The heroine hasn't even found out yet that she's a quarter African-American so the major conflict hasn't really been introduce. I'm kinda confused. How do all these people tie together?
