Working my way through the H.P. Lovecraft “Complete Fiction.” I have it next to a chair and pick up it as I think about it, so this is filler while I read other books more seriously. The stories are in chronological order and so far, nothing’s been particularly horrific. However, it’s helped me understand the early 20th-century “weird tales” craze because the stories aren’t suspenseful or scary, just … weird.
