Yes and no. Some of it is interesting just because of the subject matter but his presentation style is still pretty much the pits. Unfortunately, my eyes glaze over from time to time so I get a little confused but on the whole the information seems good. I'm currently forcing myself to read a chapter a day because I just want it done. It's been hanging around way too long!
Definitely! Although it's not quite what the title implies as it's not solely focused on the women. It's more like a bio that takes the women into account. In the right hands it still could be so interesting though.
I wouldn't say don't read it as I'll probably end up giving it three stars, I just think it could've been so much better. Anyway, here's hoping it works better for you than it has me :-).
I'm just worried about his writing style as I have his other works on my list. I guess I will see how it goes. Hopefully my eyes don't glaze over like yours did!
I've read his The Uncrowned Kings of England: The Black History of the Dudleys and the Tudor Throne which was okay. Again, good information but boring in places. Of course, the section on Robert was the most interesting. I think I also gave that three stars.
That one is also on my list although I am not a Dudley fan so I wasn't in that much of a hurry to begin with. I own The Plantagenet Chronicles 1154-1485 but haven't begun it (you have I discussed this when I got it). It is beautiful with photos, though.
Not sure... the book simply says "Derek Wilson". Either way, it is more of a coffee table book with large text so it shouldn't be too "dry".
