I will be commenting at length on Matteson's "construct:" Fuller's multiple "identities" and "lives," which makes no sense at all. But one can simply ignore Matteson's half-baked "construct," and appreciate his superb characterizations of his subject as well as his masterful achievement in biographical narrative.
