Elie and his family are taken to Birkenau concentration camp and he is split up with his mother and sisters.He has to be with his father but a man told them to lie about their age,and they did.It helped them to not be cremated and they are immediately sent to there baracks,but there was no toilet and when Elie's father asked,he was slapped for asking.
