What's the point of a doctor if he's just like "yeah you're probably alright after fainting and falling to the floor and getting a fever which really isn't normal but I'm not even going to acknowledge that. If you feel bad, walk down all the stairs of this house because you live in the attic and maybe you'll find someone to talk to before you faint again and die."

Sure, 10000 £ sounds good if you're a child with no taxes and rent to pay but it really wouldn't save her from bankruptcy in the long run. And why is she so happy about inheriting the house? There's no radiator and only one bathroom. She would have to put way more than a few thousand £ into it to make it livable.

This conversation feels really unnatural but straight authors rarely know how to make sure that the reader understands that a character is queer.

"How could it be right that some people had so much, while others had so little?" I'm not sure Hal is allowed to complain given how wasteful she is with her money.

Am I the only one who finds it ridiculous that she's trying to fake her way into this family? Bc she got the fucking letter and no one would question that. Also, she knows how east it is to fake birth certificates but she's not wondering about mrs westaways daughter and that she could have been her mom? She could just be like "I never even knew I had a grandmother" and everyone would be like "ok sure".

As if she would throw her food away just bc it's cold if it was already too expensive for her to buy it in the first place?
