What an ugly cover! But it does not sound too bad ... I am curious what you think of it!

I read the others in the series about 7 years ago, and I honestly don't remember them. I don't go for medieval romances usually, but I think I liked the author's writing style. Even if supposedly medieval characters say "awesome"...
This one is surprisingly ok. The heroine has been running her abusive husband's keep while he's off fighting in King Richard's crusade, while the hero kills said husband when he wants to rape a child captive. He's then send back to England to look after the estate while the Kings decides who will inherit it. She's not happy someone gets to rule over her again, he's surprised how much she's accomplished. They fight, they bicker. That's all I have so far :D It could've been much worse

I love a good enemy-to-lover book as long as they are not fighting insta-lust during their bickering ... :)

Well. He does lust after her from pretty much day 1. But she doesn't. It takes until she realizes he's not just going to destroy everything she worked for and that he's more than just a brute. Although she doesn't know just how brutal he is (she doesn't know he killed her hubby yet). We'll see how she takes the truth ^^ So far, they've only kissed two times? Nothing more yet
