Reading this series concertedly as I'm re-listening to the Comoran Strike series. Can't help but draw the comparisons. Savvy, somewhat incapacitated, detective curmudgeonly detective mentoring his bright-eyed, eager assistant, both discussing cases over copious amounts of tea.
