I am dying, like so happily. My absolute favorite so far is "Blind and Dumb Criticism". It is Barth's usual satire but doubled plus an anger (that I relate to so much) when he proclaimed: "(for a critic) any reservation about culture means a terrorist position". I love the clarity in which he writes. Whoever he was trying to shame but be in tears as they should lol. I highlighted multiple moment and noted "Thank you"

Barthe would be the only one who could write about detergent and at the same time power structure, psychoanalysis and of course the pretentiousness of the bourgeoisie. I love the essay about Chaplin where his comment about class also connects to art and representation when he noted "To see someone who does not see is the best way to be intensely aware of what he does not see." This has got to be an iconic quote.
