Chad is the one who told me about it. I have MU (and I think he does, as well) but if you don't then this is a fantastic way to get your hands on some cool reads!
Exactly. Have you checked out the DCU stuff? I'm still on the fence about that one but it seems like it's getting more and more content.
Not yet. The reason I stopped MU and haven't looked into DCU yet is because I'm *trying* to read stuff I already own first, but it's not really happening
My biggest problem? The library! I get so many free books from there b/c they look so cool - and then you HAVE to read them in a certain time period. So my own books fall by the wayside. Too much of a good thing? I've kept MU b/c of my kids. They'll just sit and binge an entire run when they get interested. Meanwhile, I'm over here trying to figure out how to put the single issues into a volume, you know? I don't want to rate/review each one. <--I don't think that's a problem most people have, just OCD Goodreads' addicts.
I have this problem too Anne. Plus, I'm a re-reader. I haven't gone back to a book in a while, and I'm becoming more and more torn between my mile-long TBR and the siren's call coming from my favourites shelf.
Thanks for sharing this, Anne. I don't read many comic books but I've given this a go because they're free
You know, browsing through all these comics reminded me why I don't read Marvel. Either the blurb or the reviews always make it sound like you have to read something between 50 and 800 other books before you read that particular comic, and only then you'll get how cool it really is. And I'm just like, well, if you think I'll invest like 10 years or something into reading your stuff before I'm ultimately starting to appreciate it, then you'd better think again. Of course, I might be wrong.
Ha! No, idiot. Just jump in and read. IF you decide you like the character/story THEN you go back and hunt down the older titles. I think any #1 worth its salt should be something that anyone can enjoy on a basic level.
