We are 64% of the way in and have finally arrived at the, "Harold, they're lesbians," moment.

I'm glad that I'm aware that this is a cobbled-together version of an unfinished draft before Wolfe's passing because there have been a few leaps in time/logic that would've made me question it otherwise.

This book is opting for the "beastliness as a metaphor" rather than a literal beast which is always a darn shame but I really enjoy Wolfe's writing style and have a feeling I'm going to like this despite that personal stumbling block.
