1.5 chapters in and I am bored to tears. Best friends forever since playing in the sand box can not admit their love to each other, or not make it work, or whatever, after 25 years.
I think I like my romances "get to know", not already knowing each other and still not understanding each other.
Audio, narrator is fairly good - well, it's not her fault that the story is lacking.

I think I'm the same - second chance & friends to lovers romances can really annoy me. My favourite part of any romance is the two MCs meeting & learning about each other. Skipping all of that really takes the fun of of the novel for me.

Skipping all of that real..."I do have to admit I should have never picked this up, but I was blinded by the high ratings. Still - I want to feel the "sizzle", not just the "simmering for decades and now it's ready". Second- chance are also books I usually avoid. Very few I loved, like Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie - but this author can pull this off with a lot of humor!
