I read the Pasternak and Akhmatova selections. I found the Pasternak poems much easier to understand in this translation than in Andrei Navrozov's 'Second Nature: Poems by Boris Pasternak'. I've read some Akhmatova already. I can't speak Russian, but these - so far - seem a little too 'English'. If that makes sense. But these are the two poets I am familiar with in a small way so perhaps that's why.
