Oh my goodness reading this is hard work. Listening to the author speak is marvelous; he takes such complex & boundary-pushing ideas and makes them so easily digestible. OTOH, this writing is close to impenetrable at times because of his love for florid descriptions and tangents. I can only read it in short sessions, it's exhausting. I'm in it for the overview of philosophy, cultural understandings, hoping for A-HA!
