Why is the name of a character in a previous book been changed? Is his personality modified? In a series part of the equation is characters that return from book to book. It makes no sense to change the name. Do I know this character or not? I am really appreciating this series but now I feel my trust has been betrayed. I liked this guy but now I do not know what to think. Is it a typo?

It was the barrister who defends Sir Oliver Rathbone. Other than William and Hester Monk Sir Oliver is a main character and a barrister. The love it when you have a detective and lawyer in mysteries. I love the courtroom parts.
