I've been looking forward to this. I loved Night of Khadar & Gemini God. It's prime Brit New Wave SF. Initially I found the 1st person narrative jarring but soon got used to it. The setting & characters are established, there's been some action but I'm halfway through & signs of an overarching plot are scant. There's a boys own adventure feel. Even the frequent but restrained sexual references seem to fit the mould.
