I can’t believe the number of period-inaccurate crap that’s slipped through so far. Did no one beta this? Edit it? Reading this alongside an Alyssa Cole book is like night and day.

I preordered this title way back before it started getting fairly low ARC reviews. I want to give it a chance but I also kind of want to scream because the cost of this woeful-thus-far-book could have paid for a good Alyssa Cole book instead :/

I genuinely thought I’d skipped some pages because the story cut directly from Nell going to deliver the horse to the Hughes property to previously unintroduced Beatrice being mega horny for Nell. There’s literally one paragraph before Beatrice sees Nell and then she’s into her which, whatever, but who the fuck is Beatrice?? Establish your characters!!
