Heh, I read the column and disagree with its premise and exposition. Levitsky work is a blueprint for comparative methodology (which is why I’m reading) but gets a lot of history wrong. But this article manages to be as wrong as, especially in regards to historicity. It plays too much into american exceptionalism.
But it does pose questions when a blueprint gets history so wrong.
