When I ask Arab ppl about words from here that I don't know, they don't know them either, which makes me wonder if this is almost a Darconville's Cat of Arab literature. Nah it's probably not THAT extreme. The good is that the plot moves quickly, with edge-of-your-seat (and very violent) gun battles, and, like the turtle in Grapes of Wrath, impressionistic interludes about a tiny sperm racing through the darkness.

Hm. This is honestly fairly interesting. Today's part just talked about different ways in which rays of sunlight can make their way through cracks in the doors, walls, ceiling of a house. The plot isn't really moving forward right now, it seems more about the aftermath of Majido's killing, and environmental descriptions.. The stone windmill, the chickens squawking, Brina's odd mannerisms, and so on.
