I’m surprised that I don’t like this book as much as I thought I would. I don’t really care for Ove or have a sense of other characters in the story. Maybe I’m not in the right mood to read this book, but I don’t care about what’s going on. I’m bored with it, but feel compelled to finish it.

I remember reading this and wishing there weren’t so many characters. I felt like the story would have been stronger if Ove got to know two or three characters really well instead of getting to know a ton of characters only superficially. I loved Parvaneh though! :) She has some really great scenes if you decide to stick with it until the end.

Yeah Parvaneh is great! I’m going to stick with it; it just may take me longer to finish it. I find the scenes featuring his past to be boring. I’m more interested in the current timeline.
