It's a tough read but at least Rev. Barclay used his own easier to understand vernacular translation of the NT for every scriptural passage which he then commented on. By the way, I think Barclay's translation of the NT is not in the list of English Bible translations in the biblegateway app nor at its website

I’m reading the earlier revised edition, the imaged edition is ‘in the mail’ . I’m not clergy , so difficult to ‘review’ . Of course, Letter to the Romans not ‘new’ to me. What can I say? Since the pandemic, even church shut down, so decided to drill down specifically on NT commentaries, particularly during morning prayer from BAS.
