The writing's gotten a little more tolerable, now that Bear has gotten most of her infodumping out of the way. But... I'm 20% of the way through and there isn't really a plot, or much of a sense of urgency. I feel like I'm pushing myself to try and find out *if* anything happens.

Feeling weird about the writing style. It's little details like a society that doesn't use the word 'day' somehow still having 'Teflon', as well as ongoing things like the strange, kind of overwrought sentence structures. It's also WAY jargon-y, with things like: "Connla and Singer had sensoed my feed, downloaded the full experience from my fox, and re'd the ayatana of the spliced-in switches."
