The writing is very abrupt. I can tell he must be an actor. It reads almost like a screenplay. If only he’d put names beside the lines of who is doing the speaking or doing the thinking. It’s very confusing sometimes and hard to decipher. And yet despite that (and some rather crude moments) somehow I am compelled to read on to see what happens.

The details of the beginnings of French Resistance in the area is fascinating. It’s not so cut and dried as school history made it seem. It took a lot of effort to unify people. And their reasoning wasn’t so much good against evil but free our country; first from collaborators/traitors then the Hun. “A civil war in a World war.”
