I'm enjoying this so far. While the big mystery is up front - who is the killer? - the smaller questions are pulling me in now. What did Serafina do? And what exactly were the circumstances that led to the children's death? I'm also drawn by the complexities - I tend to think of World War II as black and white. But what is the difference between a German, an Italian, and a Nazi?
