One of the reasons I like this book a lot is how the author jumps around the characters. Sometimes he tells the story with the murderers point of view and sometimes the detective's, it is a bit like the movie Inception where the director jumps around a lot, so I think that is a major reason why I like this book.

The agent in "In Cold Blood" reminds me of another detective: The detective in Catch Me If You Can. Tom Hanks as the detective is always really close to getting a clue but always misses it. Detective Dewey in the book is also always really frustrated with himself because his answer is so close and so far away. I think we all experience this in life where we are only one step away from the answer but we can't get it.

One part I really like in crime books is reading about the thoughts of the criminals. It is really interesting for me to see how the criminal plans, and eventually in the end break down and give up on their partners. By now, this type of thought starts to appear in the book. One criminal starts to worry while the other is very annoyed about the other person worrying, so I'm very curious what is going to happen next.

At first, I thought the style of In Cold Blood would be similar to Agatha Christie's style, however the book is very different. Agatha Christie's books usually has lots of forshadowing usually a theme and some psychology involved. In Cold Blood is more of just a retelling a story but in a dramatic way. In a sense of enjoyment, I like Agatha Christie's books, but from a sense of crime stories, I like In Cold Blood

In Cold Blood is a TRUE crime novel, and due to the fact that the story was true, but written in a way that is entertaining, I think this book is probably one of my favorite books that I have read this year. Lots of the books that I have previously read are Sci-Fi, so switching to a crime novel is a bery enjoyable experience. I specifically enjoy how the author jumps aroumd in time, similar to the movie Inception.
