In 2 short years President Woodrow Wilson & Congress created the Council of Nat'l Defense, the U.S. Food Adm., the U.S. Fuel Adm., the War Industries Board, the Emergency Fleet Corp., the U.S. Grain Corp., the U.S. Housing Corp., and the War Finance Corp. Wilson also nationalized the railroads. It was a dramatic leap toward the megastate we now struggle under, and it couldn't have been possible in the absence of war.

I can't believe that I had this book now for almost a year and just started reading it yesterday. I have barely been able to put it down and it's so much easier to read and understand that I thought it would be. It's just in the past when I would try and read about Ayn Rand's "objectivism" and try and learn more about Libertarianism it would seem too philosophical and complex for me to feel as if I missed something.
